Icebreaker
The program began with simply us getting to know each other better. 6 reflective questions and a play dough exercise where we made objects that symbolized influences that have helped to shape who we are.

Main Program
We began with a movement detached observer exercise where we observed who was the one operating the body, moving the hands and feet, etc. We experienced that we don’t tell each and every body part where and how to move on a daily basis. We naturally develop patterns of movements, for example when playing instruments or a sport. At first, each body movement needs to get used to a particular pattern, then it becomes a habit after consistent practice and then movements are instantaneous and as soon as we have the thought we do it.

This led us to looking at the patterns and operations that take place within our minds. 4 young people presented a skit on the dialogue that goes on between the mind, intellect, sanskars (habits and memories) and soul. Many in the group found they were able to relate to the skit as it depicted the busy operations of our inner world!

We were asked to share what we thought would make the interactions between the four characters better. We used the automatic writing technique, where we reflected on how our own conversations could be with the mind, intellect and sanskars (habits and memories).

And from this we extracted the ‘specialties’ that emerged in each one’s writing. We then wrote these specialities on border paper, cut-out frames, and with the words and decorations facing us we looked through the frames at the room and things around us.

After a while, we turned the frames around so the specialties faced everyone else and we went around looking at others and their specialties through our frames.
